Couponing Basics

Where to find coupons

First you'll need a source for your coupons. I have the Sunday, Chicago Tribune delivered, they have the most coupons in their paper. When there are a lot of coupons in the paper or good coupons I go out and buy additional papers. You can get The Sunday Tribune at the Dollar General store for $1.00.
Don't overlook friends and family. Before I started to coupon I would save the coupon inserts in the paper for my daughter. Ask them to save the inserts for you.

I also scour websites for printable coupons. I have many coupons here that you can print, coupons.com. This site has high value and pertinent coupons. They only allow two coupons per offering and you will have to print a small application to print on this site.

Manufacturers are using social media sites to promote their products and if you visit these sites some of the times there is a coupon available.  Here are some printable coupons I found at various facebook sites.

The actual grocery store is a great place to find coupons these are called hang tags, peelies and blinkies.
  • Hang tags are usually on tear off pads near the product or hanging right on the product.
  • Peelies are affixed to the product.
  • Blinkies are inside a little machine that is connected to the shelf near a product.
Any time one of these terms is mentioned it just means I got them inside the grocery store.

There are a few other sites for printable coupons.

smartsource.com
redplum.com
target.com
